Over 400 leaders from across the glass and glazing industry descended upon Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Tuesday (October 18th) to celebrate the return of the Glazing Summit, the industry’s biggest-ever conference.
With fabricators, installers, suppliers and more in attendance, the debates tackled a range of topics from supply-chain issues to labour shortages. The summit also encouraged businesses to network, learn and support each other in the midst of very uncertain times in the market and country.
Leaders from across the industry engaged in debates throughout the day, whilst Keynote speeches were delivered by William Hobbs, Chief Investment Officer for Barclays, Former Director of John Lewis, Peter Cross and Richard Harpin, CEO of Homeserve PLC.
The day event was followed by an evening of fine dining, socialising and inspiration, with former Olympian Kriss Akabusi delivering a speech to attendees.
Held in the plush Edgbaston Banqueting Suite, it’s the perfect backdrop to bring more than 200 of the industry’s most influential business owners, directors and key decision-makers together.
Guests enjoyed a perfect evening, including a champagne drinks reception, three-course gala dinner, and private bar.
2022 was the biggest event to date, with tickets selling out and around 500 people in attendance.
Founder of the Glazing Summit, Andrew Scott, said: “It was great to welcome so many key figures from across the industry to Edgbaston, with a number of important topics being raised for debate.
“The whole point of the event is to allow leaders to share their experiences, discuss the industry and connect with like-minded people.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for coming and especially the speakers who gave up their time to participate. A special mention must be given to the teams across the event organisers too, Purplex Marketing and Insight Data. The summit is so successful due to these hard-working people”.
The Glazing Summit is set to return to Edgbaston on Thursday October 12th, 2023.
